We are thrilled to announce that MFS Africa, the parent company of Baxi, was named Fintech of the Year by African Banker magazine, a feat that truly demonstrates our passion for financial inclusion in Africa.
Where did the event hold?
The African Banker Awards 2023 Gala ceremony is the most prestigious event on the African financial Calendar. It took place on Wednesday night, the 24th of May, 2023, on the fringes of the African Developmental Bank Annual Meetings at the Rixos Hotel in Sharm, Egypt and had in attendance over 300 of the continent’s top bankers, regulators, and policymakers attended the ceremony. The MFS Africa representatives were present to receive the award.
Dare Okoudjou, Founder and CEO of MFS Africa, expressed his gratitude for the recognition, stating, “We are deeply honoured to receive the Fintech of the Year award. This prestigious accolade is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire MFS Africa team. We are committed to building payments infrastructure that will last a hundred years and change the ways that Africans transact with each other and the global economy. On behalf of the team, I would like to thank the African Banker Awards for recognizing our contributions to the African financial sector.”
This year’s awards sought to recognize and promote gender equality in the business, a cause that MFS Africa has long championed with passion. We are proud of our collaborative efforts to get us closer to our aim of making borders less important even as we specially thank the African Banker magazine and its partners for this honour.
